Elements for improving Haryana Education Structure

Today, Indian economy is transforming from an agrarian and industry based economy to knowledge economy. The knowledge economy involves the use of knowledge to generate definable and indefinable values. For any state to avail the benefits of such an economy it is essential that the state should have a solid education infrastructure.

Education is the biggest instrument of change. It is only through education that empowerment of the society can be achieved. For any society which has an aim of being on top, education is a tool. It is an instrument of change .It is only through education that a person can enjoy the true benefits of globalization.

Education can go a long way in changing the face of a society, state or nation. Only education can bring about prosperity and development. The quality of life of the citizenry of a state will only improve if the education level in that society is high.

Also, the need of the hour is not only to educate the masses but it is about imparting them quality education. There is an urgent need to make the education system relevant to the constant changes.

Imparting the education through outdated syllabus is as good as keeping the student illiterate. The relevance of the curriculum in the new information age is an extremely important factor which needs to kept under consideration while designing the curriculum.

For a state like Haryana there is a need to overhaul the entire education system. The changes are happening at rapid pace and hence the technological progression will present new opportunities. In order to tap these opportunities it is essential that people should have the required skills.

Venod Sharma (@venodsharma) has always highlighted the need to make syllabus relevant to the transformation happening around us. His area of focus has always been the use of the information technology as a method of teaching. He is the only leader who has said that the focus area of the education policy of the state should be quality and not quantity.
